Claire’s passion for her profession has not stopped. Claire continues to further her knowledge to ensure patients receive the best care.
Significant post graduate courses have enabled
Claire to be recognised as an ‘Independent Prescriber’ (Claire can diagnose, treat and prescribe prescription medication for many eye diseases), and as a qualified ‘Behavioural Optometrist’; Claire can help patients with learning difficulties.
As a highly regarded industry professional, Claire also works with the University of Hertfordshire as a visiting lecturer for the School of Life and Medical Sciences.
Hammond & Dummer is owned by Claire Ranger and is the only independently owned optician practice in Milton Keynes.
Claire’s career path was mapped at an early age. At 14, Claire needed the use of contact lenses which inspired an enthusiasm for the scientific basis of sight. Completing her degree and pre-registration in the North of England, Claire moved South to practice in the Buckinghamshire area.
In 2004, with her husband Bob, Claire purchased Hammond & Dummer, and has built the practice in to one of the finest opticians in the UK, gaining national accolades and industry respect.
