Robert La Roche

Founded in 1973, the brand of Robert La Roche has held a pioneering position in the eyewear industry. After relaunching in 2014, they are more determined than ever to set a new and radical standard for what eyewear can be. They also aim to show what a small group of people can do with a raw creative vision and a constantly growing zest for innovative expression.

Only the finest materials such as natural top-grade acetate and sheer block titanium are carefully selected and expertly processed by a small number of skilled eyewear manufacturers in Italy and Japan.

In a world that emphasizes immediacy, they choose to anchor themselves in the tradition of craftsmanship and thoughtful execution. Their process begins with only the best materials and ends with forms that can be admired for a lifetime. Japanese Craftsmanship, with its unique heritage of combining handcrafted techniques and innovative technology, is unmistakable in every piece of Matsuda Eyewear. Each finished Matsuda Frame is an art object unto itself – as pleasing to the hand as it is to the eye. Matsuda Eyewear: luxury through material, quality through craft, innovative by design.

Mitsuhiro Matsuda is recognized as being the first fashion designer to meld art, architecture and fashion.

Born in Tokyo, Matsuda was exposed to design from a young age. After attending the renowned design school, Bunka, in Tokyo, Matsuda moved to Paris with his best friend, Kenzo Takada, to find inspiration.

Matsuda’s time spent in Paris was a great source of inspiration for many of his designs. He loved the whimsy of the art deco period, the industrial metal work of the late 1800’s, and the detail he found in gothic cathedrals.

These influences are most evident in the intricate lacework of his clothing and the fine engraving found throughout his eyewear collections.

Matsuda’s legendary Japanese eyewear collection has long been known for its exquisite craftsmanship and impeccable attention to detail, design, and use of engraved metals. Painstakingly crafted by hand in the artisanal eyewear workshops of Japan, each Matsuda creation represents over 40 years of design history and heritage.

Orgreen Eyewear

Welcome to Orgreen Optics: Premium designer eyewear in high-end materials, known for its signature style and innovative colour combinations. Founded in Copenhagen in 1997, their aim is to design strong and timeless frames for quality-conscious individuals all over the world.

The Orgreen trademark is their prescription eyewear and sunglasses, made in titanium and beta-titanium: precious metals in a superb quality designed to last. Their collections are designed and developed in Denmark and made by hand in Japan, known and respected for high standards and irrefutable quality. Individually crafted with more than 100 processes, each frame can take up to six months to achieve its penchant for perfection.

Their colours are developed in-house and skilfully carried out at some of the world’s leading colour labs in Japan, with a colouring process that consists of more than 15 individual steps. The different hues – more than 400 – are exquisitely composed in an array of opposites, from strong to fragile, intense to tranquil, raw to refined, sweet to serious and audacious to understated.

Makita’s first collection was inspired by the ancient art of Japanese origami. Choosing to use ultra-thin Scandinavian stainless steel, and work with the metal properties rather than use manufacturing techniques to overcome its limitations, Collection No 1 was born. Collection No 1 features frames cut from a 0.5mm sheet of stainless steel then bent and folded by hand, no welding or soldering, and a break through development in eyewear production.

Every pair of glasses is still designed and produced in the latest Mykita Haus in a quiet residential area of Berlin’s Mitte district, and much of the company’s success is based on word-of-mouth. At Mykita every department, from design to production to shipping, is housed under one roof. The end result is revolutionary, cutting-edge technology used to create lightweight, streamlined designs – making Mykita one of the world’s most recognizable and sought-after brands.

Mykita eyewear is sleek and streamlined for a clean, no nonsense appearance. Mykita has established itself as a world leader of affordable luxury, precision engineering, and unsurpassed quality. Mykita is the go to brand for people who value German engineering, quality, and low-fuss, easy to wear styling.

Face a’ Face

Far from standardized fashion diktats and conformist trends, each collection asserts its artistic temperament, drawing its inspiration from the sources of Modern Art, architecture and contemporary design.

Face à Face frames are developed within the design studio directed by Pascal Jaulent resembling small subtle pieces of architecture, playing with volumes, shapes, material and textures.

The frames express themselves through a unique colour range which is a true FACE A FACE trademark. FACE A FACE eyewear will reveal your individual personality and underline the boldness, the modernity, the seduction of an independent, creative object of design.

The MOSCOT optical roots were first planted in America by Great Grandfather and family patriarch, Hyman Moscot, who arrived from Eastern Europe via Ellis Island in 1899. Hyman began selling ready-made eyeglasses from a pushcart on Orchard Street on Manhattan’s famed Lower East Side.

By 1915, having amassed a following of loyal customers, Hyman opened the family’s retail shop, MOSCOT’s, at 94 Rivington Street, and the rest, as they say, is history!

MOSCOT is a New York City Institution renowned worldwide for its iconic eyewear — The MOSCOT Originals and MOSCOT Spirit Collections. MOSCOT infuses its unmistakably refined, downtown aesthetic with over 100 years of eyewear expertise and unparalleled craftsmanship to create its timeless eyewear. While now recognized as a global fashion brand, MOSCOT remains, at heart, a neighbourhood optical shop.

Linda Farrow

Established in 1970, the Linda Farrow brand of luxury eyewear rose quickly to acclaim. Originally a fashion designer herself, Linda Farrow was one of the first to treat sunglasses as fashion, her finger always on the pulse of the times. A tireless experimenter, Farrow pioneered many of the shapes and styles that remain au courant today. Her pioneering use of shape helped move eyewear into high-fashion territory, with avant-garde styles favoured by stars like Yoko Ono and working with brands such as Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Sonia Rykiel.

Today, operating under the original Linda Farrow name, the brand is renowned for collaborating with some of the world’s most acclaimed designers – Dries van Noten, Phillip Lim, Jeremy Scott amongst many others, constantly bringing a new perspective to the brand. Combined with the unprecedented archive of vintage sunglasses and uncompromisingly luxurious Fine Jewellery collection, the brand has established itself as one of the most exciting in fashion.

Anne et Valentin

Anne et Valentin might just be one of the best kept eyewear secrets around. This is an eyewear line that is well known among eyewear enthusiasts; however, is often times a new discovery for many eyeglass wearers. Anne et Valentin appeals to eyeglass wearers who have reached the point of frustration and boredom with mass produced, low quality knock-offs and eyewear that lacks any element of uniqueness.

Anne et Valentin insists on being a small, independent, and highly customer focused company. They have never taken a broad approach to appeal to the masses – because then you have to go to simple, mass appeal designs. Instead Anne et Valentin produces distinctive, meticulously crafted eyewear for people who desire more than “it all looks the same” eyewear.

The Anne et Valentin adventure began in September 1988 on the banks of the Garonne River, near the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Although Valentin passed away in 2003, Anne Valentin carries on in the same house, inspired by the same hues in the waters…the same vision. Anne takes her inspirations from all the tones present in the Mediterranean Sea – cerulean blues, turquoise, blush pinks, mint greens, bluish-reds (to compliment complexions) as well as more neutral tones.
