Who owns Hammond and Dummer?

The owner/director is Claire Ranger. It is Claire's business and she is always available in the practice and carries out all the eye examinations. Claire lives in Milton Keynes and her children attend local schools. It is not a franchise and the Milton Keynes store is the only one in the UK. Unlike the majority of opticians in the UK it is not owned and run by European multinationals or offshore companies.


What makes Hammond and Dummer so special?

Claire has spent all her working careers in the practice of healthcare. She is passionate about good medicine and caring for her patients. Great service and building relationships with patients are a driving force in the practice. Unrivalled patient care and the best medical practice available make Hammond and Dummer special. It costs nothing to be friendly, helpful and caring but it makes so much difference to us all when we experience these values.


Why don't Hammond and Dummer advertise?

Simply because our patients recommend us. This is the best form of marketing. We don't have to spend £millions advertising on the TV and newspapers to retain our customers. Everybody that purchases a product from Hammond and Dummer is asked to complete a customer survey telling us about their experiences. All of these go directly to Claire and if there is an adverse comment she will contact you to find out the problem. We can honestly say that our patients are extremely complimentary but we are not complacent and will not allow our high level of patient care to slip.
